What is BioEnergy Therapy?

It’s an energy-based method for releasing trauma from your body and mind. I use natural energy and light touch (or work at a distance) to help your body let go of “stuck” energy that you’re ready to let go of.

Who is it for?

This work is especially helpful for adults who are feeling stuck somehow: can’t get over an illness,  or are constantly getting sick, have chronic aches and pains, are stressed or anxious all the time, etc. This is often people who have had a traumatic, overwhelming experience and haven’t felt safe enough afterwards to completely let go of it.

How does energy get “stuck”?

Stuck energy is like hitting the pause button…

When we experience an overwhelming trauma such as an accident, illness, loss, abuse, etc, our fabulously intelligent system helps us by storing whatever we can’t handle now for processing later, when we’re safe again. Our system puts the overwhelming things on pause.

For example, if we’re in a car accident, we go into shock and stop processing pain so that we can get out of the car despite our broken arm. This is a natural process and requires that we get to a place where it’s safe to feel the pain again. If we don’t give ourselves the time and space to release the pain, we store it in our bodies. Hitting pause like this can cause issues ranging from physical illnesses, to mental-emotional challenges… aches and pains, migraines, chronic injuries and illnesses, insomnia, panic attacks, phobias, etc, etc, etc.

How does Bioenergy Therapy work?

In a safe, healing space, I connect with your energy and silently ask your body how I can help. Your infinite wisdom immediately offers areas to work on, and I silently suggest ways to release and rebalance those areas. Rather than exchanging energy between us, I invite your body to use the natural energies available. Your system will continue releasing and rebalancing from 24 hours to 2 weeks after the session.

Is it effective?

I’ve used this therapy successfully with hundreds of clients as well as to help myself release childhood traumas. You can read testimonials here. You will feel a sense of calm and renewed vitality after the session, held energy will be released and you will be re-energized and rebalanced.

Does it last?

Yes, as long as you don’t recreate the block with old habits. By nature, you are constantly changing, growing and evolving. Every moment you’re creating new cells, building new neuro-pathways, etc. The advantage is that you’re wonderfully adaptable. The challenge to that you can re-create your original state over time.

For example, if you’ve become a workaholic to avoid feeling your pain, we can release the pain, and then you will need to address your life-style habits. If you keep overworking and don’t change your hours, you will re-create similar energetic patterns overtime.

Because of this, I recommend that all of my clients identify personal practices to help them create new habits. Personal practices can be things like regular fitness, meditation, yoga, fitness, healing martial arts, etc. This can be something you already do or something we design together.

I also teach mindfulness meditation and yoga, and I can share those skills with you as well.

Do I need multiple sessions?

That depends on what you’re wanting to release and your willingness to commitment to a personal practice.

I like to think of the first session as getting all of the low hanging fruit: everything that’s easy and that you’re really ready to let go of goes first. Everyone feels great after this session, because all of those things that you’ve been waiting to release are done. That may be enough for you.

If you want to work on a deeper issue, something intractable or difficult to release, those things often take 2 more sessions. In the second session, we’re able to go much deeper because you and your body trusts the therapy. In the third session, you’ve dedicated enough time to your personal practice and changed your habits between sessions so that your whole system is ready to let go on a deeper level.

Because of the necessity to change personal habits, I only do multiple sessions with people who are willing to do a personal practice between sessions. Again, this can be something you do already or something we design together.
